TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

What is Training and Development

Professional and Personal development planning (PDP) is designed to help you build on and enhance the skills that you have developed during your previous studies or work experience. PDP provides a framework within which you can clarify what you aim to achieve from whether it is from your further study or the workplace a process which will help you achieve your aims. Studying at the higher level is a large financial commitment, and PDP will help to ensure that you make the most of your time at Your Awards, Training and Development.

During your studies or training you will track and record your personal and professional development, critically reviewing your learning experiences, setting personal and academic goals, and evaluating your progress towards these goals. Employers will be keen to know what you have gained from the PDP, and participating in this process will help you to develop the confidence and ability to identify and articulate your skills and qualities.

The PDP process will help you to:

  • identify your training needs
  • set objectives for development
  • monitor your progress
  • discuss your development needs with your mentor/supervisor
